THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH by Raphael Oye. Taiwo

Mat 6:10

… Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

In heaven, the total will of God is done by the angelic inhabitants of heaven and the saints who have departed from the earth and are now enjoying the eternal glory of God.

God desires worship and praise from His creatures (1Chron 16:29; Rev. 14:7; Psalm 69:34). The inhabitants of heaven satisfy this desire. (Rev. 4:8-11). God desires genuine holiness and perfect love. The heavenly beings fulfill this will. Everything God wants, the inhabitants of heaven ensure that it is totally done.

Through His examples, Jesus showed us that the will of God can be done on earth as it is done in heaven (John 4:34).  It is our duty, as children of God, to do the will of God – as they do it in heaven. Mat 12:50

STAND FAST IN THE LORD by Raphael Oye Taiwo

image

Phi 4:1, ‘Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.’

To stand fast means to refuse to abandon one’s opinion, intention, decision or belief.

When a person comes to Jesus, he does so because he believes Jesus came to the world to suffer and die for his sins… that Jesus is Lord and Saviour… that Jesus is the Son of God and God in the flesh.

This belief, when combined with genuine repentance, leads to salvation and puts one’s name in the book of Life.

At that time of coming to Jesus, you make a decision to follow Him in faith, love and holiness.

The devil knows that as long as you hold on to your belief in Christ and fulfill your decision to follow the good Lord, he – the Evil One – cannot bring you back into his kingdom of darkness.

But the devil really wants you in his kingdom of darkness. He wants you to share in his eternal suffering. So he is doing everything he can to get you to abandon your belief in Christ and to forget your decision to follow the Lord of Light through the rest of your life.

You must stand fast and refuse to do what the devil wants.

PREACH THE WORD

Raphael Oye. Taiwo

One day, you stand before the judgment throne of God. In a solemn voice, the Great Judge asks, “Where are the souls I gave you several opportunities to lead to me for their salvation?”

Think of the overwhelming sense of shame you will feel as you answer, “Lord, I know not where they are?”

Now, imagine, if possible, how terrible you will feel as the Lord fixes you with a cold stare and in a sad voice declares,

“I gave you several opportunities to lead those people to me so they could be saved. My spirit was ready to back you up if only you cared enough to seize the opportunities. My powerful angels were ready to fight for you against the demonic enemies if they tried to hinder you while speaking to those people.

“Those precious souls are now irretrievably lost in the burning hell because you didn’t care enough to lead them to me. They are lost forever because of your unconcern, carelessness and indifference. They will spend eternity in the horrible place of the damned because you were more concerned about your own affairs that have no eternal value.

“Because you didn’t love me enough to obey me and do my total will, those people will be begging in vain for a drop of water forever and ever. Because you loved your ease and reputation more than your fellows’ souls, the people will be forever separated from God. I’ll have to require their blood from your hand, you slothful and unfaithful servant.”

Ezek. 3:

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

STAND FAST IN FAITH by Raphael Oye Taiwo

image

1Cor. 16:13, Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

It is through faith in Christ that you can foil all the attempts of the Evil One to make you give up and turn back from following the Lord.

It is through faith in Christ that you can successfully resist the Enemy when he comes to tempt you or harass you. James 4:7

It is with the shield of faith that you can ward off the blows, arrows and all the harmful missiles of the devil. Eph 6:16.

So, don’t lose your faith. Let it grow every time through the study and hearing of the Word of God. Let it grow by practice, using it regularly.

Be strong in your faith and purpose

2Thes. 2:15, Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught whether by word, or our epistle.

Be strong in your faith in Christ. Be strong in your purpose and decision to follow Him to the end. Keep the truth of the word of God which you have learnt.

Stand fast in your God-given liberty

Gal 5:1, Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

God desires for us to be free. Christ has truly made us free through His work on the cross of Calvary. Don’t allow any person to put a yoke on you again.

There are people and things the devil uses to put people in the bondage of hell. These include false teachers who teach what the Bible does not teach… false preachers who preach salvation by works and the gospel of money… so-called Christian churches that practice occultism…et cetera. Rom 16:17-18; 2Pet. 2:1
